Vincent "Jim" Daly. 77, died Sunday April 9, 2023 in Laurel. He was born in Boise, Idaho on November 21, 1945 to VIncent and Marion (Bell) Daly. He grew up in Vancouver, Idaho, Wyoming. and Montana and led a very adventurous life. As a child, he traveled with his father, who was a bush pilot, even getting to fly the plane! He especially loved rock climbing, sailing and driving the switchbacks of the Bighorn and Beartooth Mountains and road trips, picnics, watching wildlife and reading great books. Simple things made him the happiest.
Jim attended school and college in Wyoming. He served in the United States ARMY as a combat engineer in Vietnam. He married Tamara Dye and two sons were born to this union. They later divorced.and Jim moved to Billings. Jim worked as a land man, heavy machinery operator, well driller and as an insurance agent during his career years.
He is survived by his wife Kathi; sons Brook (Mischele) and Sean (Nikki); a sister Ellen Sue Cogswell; grandchildren Tavis, Kinly, Bentlee, Quinn and Amelia; several nieces and nephews and incredible friends.
Jim often said that he was the luckiest man in the world. Love is eternal and Jim will be missed forever.
A graveside committal with military honors will be held at 10:00 am Monday April 17, 2023 at the Yellowstone National Cemetery in Laurel
