Val was born June 2, 1954, and passed away March 21, 2016, surrounded by her family. Val was born in Mc Minville, Ore., and lived many places and did many things. She worked in a talc mine, was a welder, worked at Red Lodge Mountain for many years and tended bar in Joliet just to name a few. She was talented in so many ways. She painted, did wood work, was a great cook and loved playing on her computer. Val loved her children and grandchildren more than anything. She was preceded in death by her parents (Rose Ryan), her brother John, and brother-in-law Paul Westerfield. She is survived by her husband Alvin of Joliet; son Michael Parker (Roxy) of Red Lodge; grandchildren Adrian, Cedrick, Chelsey and Justin; son Frank Parker of Glendive; sisters Lee Westerfield and Diane Sawyer of Red Lodge and Joyce Dunker (Rod) of Billings; One brother Tim Ryan (Joby) of Minot, N.D.; many nieces and nephews; also her special pets Trey, Sophie and Recon.
Services will be at 2 p.m. April 2, at the First Baptist Church in Joliet. Family requests that people wear purple. It was Val's favorite color.
