Thomas George Deis

Tom Deis, 77, died Thursday January 13, 2011 at Laurel Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born April 7, 1933 to Frank and Barbara (Berger) Deis in Flasher, North Dakota. The family moved to Laurel, Montana in 1945. Tom attended and graduated from Laurel High School in 1952. He worked for Convoy Trucking Company as a dispatcher and enjoyed tending bar for many years. He later moved to Oregon and Califonia for work before returning home to Laurel in 2006. Tom was stricken with childhood Polio that limited his physical abilities, though this do not caurb his enthusiasm for sports. Tom was very knowledgeable about sports history. Left to cherish Mr. Deis' memory include Loretta and George Metzger, Richard and Marilyn Deis, Richard and Donna Vering and Francis and Tracy Deis as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. A Rosary Service will be at 7:00pm Sunday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with a Memorial Mass on Monday January 17, at 10:00am. Graveside committal will be held at 1:00pm Thursday January 20, 2001 at the Laurel Cemetery.
