Terry L. Fox, 73, of Laurel passed away April 5, 2025 at Intermountain (St. Vincent Hospital) Health, Billings, MT.
TSgt Terry L. Fox, a proud retired United States Air Force veteran, passed away Saturday April 5, 2025, from complications of agent orange following multiple surgeries.
Born September 21,1951 in Billings, Terry was the youngest son of Henry and Rose Fox. He grew up in Laurel Montana and was graduate of Laurel High School in 1969.
Terry married the love of his life, Delores "Dodie" Kappel on August 1, 1970, together they gave life to three daughters; Ronna, Carey Ann, and Terri Laurelle.
He entered the Air Force in November 1969. During his career, he graduated from both the Non-Commissioned Officer Leadership School and the NCO Academy in residence along with other CCAF courses.
TSgt Fox served as a Loadmaster on both the HC-130 and the C-141B Starlifter; flying more than 8330 accident-free flying hours. He was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal with three devices, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with the valor devise, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 1 device, Humanitarian Service Medal, Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation, National Defense Service Medal with one device and several other ribbons, medals and citations.
Terry retired July 31, 1991, while stationed with the 86TH Military Airlift Squadron on Travis Air Force Base, California. In retirement he continued to live up to his squadron’s motto, VERSATILE.DEPENDABLE. He served his fellow veterans as Sergeant of Arms as well as Honor and Color Guard for the American Legion Post 123, and as Sr. Vice Commander and Honor and Color Guard at VFW Post 3177. He fostered more than 100 BARK puppies; some newborns with mamas, some orphans needing bottle feeding but all needing love and training. He was Santa Paws for BARK’s annual Christmas Santa Shoot, and he helped with other annual BARK events. When he wasn’t serving his community, Terry enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing card games, bowling, fishing, and being outside.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Rose Fox; and his four brothers, Larry, Ronnie, Jon, and Randy.
He is survived by his loving wife Delores, "Dodie" ; daughters; Carey Ann Fox, Terri Laurelle Fox, and Ronna (David) Green; four granddaughters; Jessie, Rachael, Gayle, Amber; two great grandsons and two great granddaughters. Terry also leaves behind extended family members Richard and Lorna Kappel, Peggy Kappel, Donna Kappel, Kathleen and Craig Baumgartner, sisters-in-law Laura Fox and Eileen Fox, and numerous nephews, nieces, great nieces and great nephews

Military Honors will be 11:00 am Monday, April 28, 2025 at the Yellowstone National Cemetery followed by a Celebration of Terry's life held at the American Legion Hall Riverside Park at 12:30 pm.
