Ronald Miles Welch

On Friday, January 28th, 2022 dads chores were through and he was called home to join our mom Patricia in heaven due to complications from Covid.

 He was born August 25, 1953 in St. Paul, MN to Guida and Merton Welch. Ron was the second youngest of 9 kids.

 Dad was a hard worker. Always willing to lend a helping hand. There was nothing that he couldn’t fix! He looked forward to working around Freedom Church fixing anything on the list they had for him. He was always a phone call away to help anyone in need.

He always had a smile and was a friend to everyone he met. He enjoyed camping, fishing, plowing snow in the winter and cutting grass in the summer.  Often his weekends were spent with his family either driving around in the mountains looking for animals or cruising on the lake in his boat.

  He loved to sing and sang at the top of his lungs in church with all he had. He had a song for just about anything you were going through good or bad he always seemed to cheer you up with his music. He sang to mom everyday she was in the hospital before he went home.

He always made sure his family had everything they needed.  Always had the best advise about everything. Even if it wasn’t something we wanted to hear he generally was always correct. 

Papa loved to have fun with the grandkids, always telling them stories and teaching them new things. He loved playing jokes on them too.

 Ron is survived by his 5 children, Jessi Anderson (Brad Karels)of Rosen, MN, son in law Rick  Anderson (Kelly Brown) of Starbuck, MN, Derek and Tina Craig of Billings, Melissa and John Barnett of Laurel, Matt Welch of Billings and Mike Welch of Laurel. He is also survived by his grandkids Jayde and Jon Jallo and great grandson Easton Nohl,  Tristan, Wyatt (Taressa Sosbe)  and Cody Anderson, Kali and Lexi Craig, Zachree Welch( Raigan Mendenhall), Rachelle Welch, Andre, Olivia, Heidi and Addison Welch. His brother Robert Welch of Bowler Wisconsin, sister Rosetta and Dave Rameriz of Bowler Wisconsin, Sister Ronda and William Sullivan of Bowler Wisconsin and sister Redeena and John Krieger of St. Paul Minnesota, his sister in law Jean Noyes of Starbuck, MN and brother in law Tim Stensby of Starbuck, MN and several nieces and nephews.

He is extremely missed by his little dog Ash whom he loved so much and spoiled rotten!

He was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years Patricia, his parents Guida and Merton his  inl aws, Duwayne and Elaine Stensby, sister in laws Brenda Cowle, Sherry Champagne, and brother in law Scott Stensby, 4 of his siblings Rene, Russell, Rhonona, and Ralph Welch.

 Dad/Papa/Grandpa we miss you so much! We know you’re in a way better place than we are! We all know you’re singing and dancing on those streets of gold with mom! Hold down the fort til we meet again!

A graveside committal will be held 10:00 am Monday March 14, 2022 at Yellowstone National Cemetery, followed by a gathering at Freedom Assembly of God Church in Billings
