Roger Wold Obituary

Roger "Buck" Wold, 76, of Laurel, died Friday March 14, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born August 19, 1937 to LeRoy and Myrtle (Olsberg) Wold in Enderlin, North Dakota. He attended school in Jamestown, North Dakota until eighth grade when his family moved to Laurel. Buck graduated from Laurel High School. He joined the United States Army in 1955 and served until being honorably discharged in 1958. He married Marilee McLarnon in 1960 and together they raised two children. Buck worked at Farmers Union Refinery (Cenex Harvest States) until retirement in 1988. Throughout the years he spent time teaching his grandchildren how to weld, swim, hunt and fish and was rarely seen without a grandchild or great-grandchild in tow. Buck enjoyed his coffee buddies from the Railside Diner and was a member of the Laurel Aqua Knights search and water rescue. His passion was scuba diving. He also liked Johnny Cash music and was know to play a fly swatter! Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 53 years, Marilee; children Dirk Wold and Renee Wold; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Memorial Services will be 10:00am Saturday March 22, 2014 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Laurel. Memorial contributions made be made in Buck's name to Rocky Mountain Hospice or the Laurel Library.
