Richard T. "Dick" Orr, of Lewistown and formerly of Bozeman, passed aways December 25, 2008 in Lewistown after a short battle with cancer. He was born to Tom and Ruby (Hyland) in Great Falls. He graduated from Great Falls High in 1956 and Montana State University in 1960. Dick taught high school government, social studies, history and English in Belt, MT and Edmonds, WA and retired after teaching in Bozeman at the junior and senior high schools in 1992. He was active in local eduation associations throughout his career. In retirement, he and Charlotte had the opportunity to take several crusies and trips abroad. Richard's happiest time was spent with his family, however his passion was hunting birds and big game. Richard was also a social and political agitator and if you knew him, you knew he had an opinion on everything. Mostly though, he had a huge and generous heart and an abiding love for his family and friends. Richard is survived by his wife Charlotte of 49 years, sons Thomas (Susan) of Missoula, Scott of Billings and a daughter Melissa (Charles) Puelicher-Smid of Moose, WY, and four grandchildren. Preceding Mr. Orr in death are his parents and a sister. A Celebration of his life will be December 28, 2008 from 2 - 6 PM at the family home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Central Montana Medical Center Hospice Program.
