Richard (Dick) Lee Brester, 72, left us May 9, 2015 in Billings. He was born June 12, 1942 to Fred Brester and Lydia Frickel Brester. Dick grew up and attended school in Laurel, graduating in 1963. He entered the U.S. Army on January 17, 1964. He was a member of the 101st Airborne Unit. He served 3 years active duty in the Dominican Republic. He was discharged on December 31st, 1969. He worked for his brother in law Bernard Pease Masonry from about age 15 to retirement. Dick enjoyed fishing and mowing his lawn. He liked to tinker in the garage. Papa (as he was lovingly called by his grandchildren) liked to have family gatherings and barbeques. He dressed up as Santa and brought gifts to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren on Christmas Eve for many years. He always cooked Christmas and Thanksgiving dinner and every gathering throughout the year. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, twin brothers Larry and Jerry and sister Sally. He is survived by his wife Myrna (Bathurst) Brester, sons Alan Brester (Kristen), Scott Brester (Sheila) and his 3 children acquired through marriage, Brian Sorenson (Kimberly), John Sorenson and Kenda Rollins (Jason), 16 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren. Sisters Betty Pease (Bernard), Judy Pease and brothers Robert Brester (Bette) and Kenny Brester (Vicki), sister in law Cherri Mariott and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Memorial Services will be 11:00am Wednesday May 13, 2015 at The Rock Church in Laurel.
