Patrick Singer, 60, of Billings, passed away on May 17, 2020 after a long battle with cancer. Pat didn’t go through this illness by himself; his “Baby Sis” was by his side.
Pat was born in Miles City on Feb. 2, 1960 to Doc and Ida (Berreth) Singer. At three months old, the family moved to Chadron, Nebraka, where his dad finished his training in in boot and shoe repair. The family later moved to Bayard, Nebraska where Doc opened his own business. Pat enjoyed soap box derbies, Cub Scouts and hunting/fishing. He sold night-crawlers, did yard work and enjoyed working a paper route with his sister Mary. Pat was one to, “Try anything once.” At 12 years old, he endured much bullying from being in Special-Ed, but “Baby Sis” was right there to protect him. Following school, Pat moved to Laurel to live with his grandma Bridget.
Pat later moved to Oregon with some buddies. During his stay there, Pat was severely injured. Pat then worked at Sambo’s and Pizza Hut for approximately 18 years. He and his dog “Jazzie” could always be seen walking together. Jazzie passed one month before Pat.
Pat moved back to Laurel/Billings where he lived with his mother Ida and John. He was then accepted into the Prairie Towers. Pat was one of a kind. He could tell some pretty wild stories even about his imaginary friend (who we never got his name). Pat’s life wasn’t easy but he managed to live it to the fullest. Pat was able to enjoy trips with his brother Ed, before Ed’s passing. He also went to his class reunion in Nebraska and paddle fishing in Bridge, Wyoming.
Pat’s ashes will be joined with his father’s, Brother Ed and Jazzies, at a later time.
“ Rest in Peace son, you did it your way. You always said you wasn’t mean, just ornery.”
Special thanks to Dr. Kidd (Billing’s clinic), Little Bob, Pat, Jess, Kathy Madden and son for your help, encouragement and help. Memorial services are TBA.
Patrick is preceded in death by his father Doc, Brother Ed, Grandparents and dog Jazzie.
Patrick is survived by his mother Ida and John Maciel of Billings, sister Mary Hewitt and son Dustin of Billings; Julie and Sarah of Whitefish, as well as uncles, aunts and cousins.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all who help, organized and contributed during this difficult time.
