Nancy Carole Weis

Nancy Weis, 63, of Laurel, went to join her husband, Dave, on Friday April 25, 2014, eight years to the day of his passing. Nancy fought a long courageous battle with cancer. She was easily recognized with her joyous smile and uplifting attitude. Nancy was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. Nancy was born July 22, 1950 in Baldwin, Wisconsin. She moved to Laurel with her parents Os and Elna Hallen in 1957 and attended and graduated from Laurel High School. She married David Weis on April 17, 1972 and raised four children. Dave and Nancy were professional photographers and took many wedding, senior, and kids' sport pictures. She enjoyed a lot of activities including softball, bowling and golf. She was very involved at Our Savior's Lutheran Church and for over twenty years she and her family helped make lefse for the yearly bazaar. Left to cherish Nancy's memory are her children, Melissa (Bryce Owen) Weis, Melinda (Bill) Luce, Bryan Weis and Jodi (Mike) Hill; siblings Bob and Joyce Brathole, Bette and Bob Brester, Mary and Bob Blakeslee, Dean and Sue Hallen, Pam and Bruce Schreiner and Mable Weis; grandchildren Morgan and Mason Luce, Bryanna, Brittany, Brooke and Bailey Weis, Sophia and Laila Mascarena, Caleb, Nate, Eli and Aiden Hill. SHe was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Memorial Services will be 10:00am Thursday May 1, 2014 at Our Saviors' Lutheran Church in Laurel. Memorial contributions may be made in Nancy's name to Special K Ranch of Columbus or the charity of your choice.
