Monty Ray Cherry

Monty Ray Cherry, 70, of Laurel died on Tuesday March 28, 2023, at home with his wife Terri, son Brian and daughter Kacie by his side.  He was born September 29, 1952 in Lewistown, Montana to Raymond and Edna (Kirkland) Cherry.

Monty grew up in Laurel and graduated from Laurel High School in 1971.

Monty married his childhood sweetheart,Terri Vennes,  and for 50 years, they built a life together finding a love for skiing, camping, back backing, fly fishing, four wheeling, and spending more than 40 years at their cabin at the Stillwater River.  Monty worked as a master craftsman, building houses, laying carpet, and he retired after 36 years at Cenex Harvest States Refinery in Laurel.

He loved the Lord and his wife, children, and granddaughters; who were the highlight and apple of his eye.. Monty had several dogs through out his life, who were all his favorites!.

Monty is survived by his wife Terri; son Brian of Helena; daughter Kacie (Scott) Strand of Columbus; three granddaughters Talyn Richard, Olivia Richard and Mayah Strand; his father Raymond; a sister Cheryl (Bill) Tobias;; one other sister and three brothers.

Services will be held at 10:00 am May 13, 2023 at Grace Bible Church  917 Washington Avenue  Laurel, Montana
