Michael Jon Lees

 

Born in BIllings, MT August 30, 1955 to John Robert Lees and Elva Mae (Starkweather) Lees.  Mike passed away February 18, 2019 in Cedar Wood Villa of Red Lodge.

 

Raised on Valley Drive in Laurel, MT, he attended and graduated from Laurel High School.  He attended college in Idaho until he left to serve as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day saints in Texas, where he later returned to attend school for Chiropractics.

 

Life changed for him there after a motor vehicle accident that nearly took his life.  He suffered a traumatic brain injury and was left with short-term memory problems and the loss of sight in his right eye.

 

After returning home for a period of time to recover, he returned to Texas and completed his Doctorate of Chiropractic.  After graduation, he opened a small chiropractic business in Corvallis, MT.  He struggled with declining memory, headaches, and other health issues and ultimately had to close his business and return home to work.  He held a few jobs, including working alongside his father in his heating and cooling business.  Eventually his declining health left him unable to work.  

 

His interests through the years were golf, guns, and computers.  On his good days, he could be found doing errands and projects for his mother or visiting with family and friends.  He continued to have some quality of life until he suffered a multiple hemorrhagic stroke that left him paralyzed on his right side and unable to care for himself. 

 

We are forever grateful for the loving angels who cared for Mike at Immanuel Lutheran Communities of Kalispell MT, Cedar Wood Villa of Red Lodge MT, and Beartooth Billings Hospice.  May he find comfort and peace as he is reunited with his loving parents.  

 

Mike is preceded in death by both his parents.  Surviving family members include his brother Alan Robert Lees (Donavee) and his sister Karen Ann Anderson (Charles) and their respective families. 

 

Arrangements are with Remington Funeral Chapel.

 

Graveside services will be held Friday, March 1 at 11 am.
