Born on October 16th, 1950 as the only child to Robert and Patricia Forrestal in Seattle, Washington, Mary grew up with fond memories of the Puget Sound. Mary graduated from Bishop Blanchet High School in Seattle, WA.
Mary married Raymond Shrader in 1970 and they settled eventually in Billings, MT. Two boys, Rob and Ryan, were born in Billings in 1975 and 1981. Ray and Mary decided a few years later to move their family to Laurel to spend the rest of their married years. They were married for 51 years altogether.
After many years working for McKesson Drug Company in Billings, Mary switched to working at the Billings Clinic, then finally Laurel Family Medicine-St Vincent.
Mary spent as much time as possible playing her guitar and singing with friends at church. She was an enthusiastic reader, often meeting with like-minded friends for book club. Mary was also a gracious host and enjoyed having guests to share at her table. In her remaining spare time, Mary could be found gardening or painting. Finally, she took the greatest joy in giving her time to church and community outreach. She gave her time to: CASA, RCIA, Cursillo, and CCD. She just loved to help others in any way possible.
Mary maintained her relentless optimism and positive attitude up until her final breath. She is survived by her husband Ray, sons Rob (Heather) and Ryan, & grandsons John(13) and James(8).
