Marlin Payne, 83, went to be with the Lord on April 2, 2013. He was born February 7, 1930, in Joliet to Francis and Tena Payne. He married his high school sweetheart, the love of his life, Dottie Zier. Marlin worked for his dad in Billings for an unfinished furniture store. He also had a used comic book business and worked at his parents' Laundromat. Marlin started a band and began playing at the 17 Club and the Midway Club, which started his musical career. He promoted big name stars such as Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, The Crickets, Johnny Cash, Farron Young, The Beach Boys and many others. Family time was very important as he would take his wife and three boys to Waterton Park, Canada, for two weeks each year. Later in life, he and Dottie would move to Cooney Dam where they enjoyed fishing, beach combing and finding many new friends over the 12 years of living there. Marlin is survived by his wife Dottie; sons Michael (Tina), Randy (Jennifer) and Travis (Sherri); a brother Frank (Kathy); 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Marlin's life will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, May 18,2013 at Central Court Village, 78 27th St. W
