Mark Dwayne Snow, 64, of Laurel, Montana, passed away November 14, 2024, surrounded by his loving family, after a ferocious battle with throat cancer. Born on September 12, 1960, in Billings, Montana, Mark lived a life defined by service, dedication, and an enduring love for the outdoors and his family.
Mark graduated Park City High School after growing up in the small community with his three sisters, Valerie, Natalie and Vickie. After graduation, Mark proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 20 years, embodying integrity, honor, and commitment. Mark spent his career working on the mechanics of F-16 fighter jets, completing two long tours in the Middle East, and being an instructor for incoming soldiers. Following his military career, he moved his family back to Montana and worked for another 20 years at Exxon refinery, where his hard work and expertise left a lasting impact.
Marks life wouldn’t have been complete without his lifetime adventure partner of 45 years, Nita, who he married and whisked away to their first military assignment. Mark was a devoted husband with whom he shared a lifetime of love, partnership, and adventure. Together they raised four children – Sarah (Matthew) Kottke, Jake, Magge and Anne, who carry forward his values and passion for life. Mark he is met in heaven by his mom, Sharon Snow, his grandparents and multiple aunts and uncles.
Mark’s pride and joys in life were his three cherished grandchildren, Carson (12), Cora (5), and Graham (2). Being their papa brought him endless joy and laughter.
Mark found solace in nature and treasured time spent camping, fishing, and exploring the rugged beauty of whatever State he was stationed in, vacationing in, or calling home. He had a special bond with his dogs, who were constant companions in his many outdoor adventures. He spent his falls hunting with his kids, and his summers in his camper or on his boat. Mark’s love for good food kept him busy exploring new restaurants or finding new recipes to try on his grill or smoker.
He will be remembered for his unwavering loyalty to his family, his warm smile and hugs, and the countless memories he created with those who loved him. Mark never knew a stranger.
A Graveside Committal with Military Honors will be held at 12:00 pm Friday November 22, 2024 at the Yellowstone National Cemetery, in Laurel Montana followed by a Celebration of Life reception at the Park City Civic Center.
Mark’s legacy lives on in the hearts of those he leaves behind, and his spirit will forever inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.
