Kevin Jay Greenwalt Obituary
Kevin Jay Greenwalt, 70, of Park City, Montana, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on June 22, 2026.
Kevin was born on January 11, 1956, in Hardin, Montana, to Elmer and Inez Greenwalt. He spent his early years in Hardin before his family moved to Red Lodge, where they farmed. Later, they settled in Laurel, where Kevin graduated from Laurel High School in 1974.
Kevin began working at Sinclair Mobile while still in high school. He later worked for Burlington Northern Railroad until the company relocated. He then joined Robertus Farms, which led him to Weschenfelder Feedlot, where he dedicated 32 years of hard work. After the feedlot was sold to Bullseye Ranch, Kevin continued working there until retiring in 2024.
On January 12, 1979, Kevin married the love of his life, Sherri Temple Greenwalt. One of his favorite stories was that he intentionally chose the day after his birthday for their wedding so he would never forget their anniversary– although he often laughed that he could never remember whether it was the day before or the day after his birthday.
Together, Kevin and Sherri built a beautiful life and welcomed two daughters, Diana in 1983 and Devin in 1991.
Kevin was known for his strong work ethic, but beyond work, he found great joy in his lifelong love of hot rods. He loved working on his cars, attending car shows, and taking long drives. Above all else, Kevin treasured his family. Becoming a papa was one of the greatest blessings of his life, and his grandchildren truly were his whole world.
Kevin is preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Inez Greenwalt; his sister Diane; his brother Dennis, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 48 years, Sherri Greenwalt; his daughters, Diana (Kip) and Devin (Jake); his grandsons, Deacon, Wyatt, and Chase; his granddaughters Alice and Baylee; his special nephews, Nate Temple, Jeff Walker, and Eric Walker; along with many extended family members, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Kevin will be remembered for his strength, unwavering dedication to his family, his love of classic cars, and his kind heart. His greatest pride was the family he and Sherri built together, in the memories they shared will continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
Please join us for Kevin’s Celebration of Life, July 11, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Park City Civic Center.
