Julia Frances Butkay

Butkay, Julia 89 of Billings, died May17,2007 at Valley Health Care Center. Julia was born March 22,1918 to John and Jessie (Scofield) Bennett in Hardin, Montana. She attended school in the Hardin area and went to Billings Business College after high school. She and Charles Butkay were married in California. He served in the Navy during WWII, while she worked at Douglas Aircraft as a welder. After his discharge from the Navy, they moved to Bridger and then Laurel, Montana, While in Laurel, Julia worked at Chapman's Pharmacy for several years.

She is survived by her daughter Roberta (Don) Fried of Billings, Grandson Michael (Sarah) Fried of Fort Lewis, Washington, Grandaughter Kimberly (Brad ) Drake of Belmont, North Carolina and 4 great grandsons, Cameron, David, Matthew, and Joshua. Julia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles, and her sister Mary Froese.

Visitation will be on Monday at the Remington Letcher Memorial Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at the Laurel United Methodist Church at 10:00 AM Tuesday May 22, 2007. Burial will follow at the Laurel Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Rocky Mountain Hospice,Big Sky Hospice or the charity of your choice.
