James "Jim" Allen Hutchins Obituary

Jim Hutchins Jr., 60, of Laurel, went to be with the Lord on December 19, 2020 after a brief illness.  He was born on May 17, 1960 in Billings to James and Irene (Feller)Hutchins and was raised in Park City, MT.  Jim married Leslie LaPrath on June 13, 1981 and had 2 daughters Keri (Loren) Peterson and Jaimee Hutchins.  Jim also had 2 grandchildren Taryn and Zander Peterson.  Jim worked as a Journeyman Lineman in the substation department at Northwestern Energy in Billings.  Jim loved the great outdoors such as camping, ATVing, fishing and hunting with his family and friends.  Jim also enjoyed being the camp chef at every family gathering.  Jim’s greatest joy in life was enjoying time with his grandchildren and relaxing around the campfire. He also thoroughly enjoyed being involved with his church family at New Life Foursquare Church. 


He is preceded in death by his brother Michael Allen Hutchins. He is survived by his parents, wife, daughters, grandchildren and sisters Cindy (Kelly) Caldwell and Valvet Campbell as well as numerous nieces and nephews. 


A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, December 28, 2020 at 1 p.m. at New Life Foursquare church in Laurel, Montana.  Memorial contributions may be made in Jim’s name to the School of Light at New Life Foursquare Church.
