James Bossen Obituary

James Leroy Bossen, 72, of Park City,  passed away November. 5, 2020.

He was the oldest of four children, born to Roger and Peggy Bossen. He grew up in Cashmere, Washington., where he graduated high school. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force on June 2, 1967, and served through June 1, 1971.

He married Peggy Scammahorn June 1, 1968. They had the blessing of their two children, Mike and Amy Jo, before they later divorced. After military time, his love for the outdoors drew him into the logging industry.

In 1990, he went to Alaska to fish on the fishing boats, then returned to Montana where he met his current wife, Jeanette Bossen and continued in the logging industry.

He later went to work for Stillwater County on the road and bridge crew. He worked there for eight years before he retired. In 2019, he was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer, and the many complications of this diagnosis caused his death.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, mother-in-law and granddaughter, Ta’keisha.

He is survived by his wife Jeanette Bossen (Park City); son Mike Bossen (Sandy) of Stanford, Mont.; daughter Amy Jo Bossen of Cashmere, Wash.; brother Brad Bossen (Karen) of Phoenix, AR, Brother Bob Bossen of Wenatchee, Wash, Sister Julie Bossen of Spokane, Wash.; step-daughter Daisy (Matthew) Henckel of Park City, Mont.; step-son Joshua (Shiann) Anthony of Laurel, Mont.; nine grandkids, Justice, Alyvia, Riley, Makayla, Emily, Tory, Mia, Savannah, and Layton as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Jim was very active in the American Legion and enjoyed all his Legion friends very much.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to American Legion Auxiliary Unit 100 Park City, MT.

Celebration of life will be held Nov. 29, 2020, at 2 p.m. at the Park City Civic Center.
