Gordon Timothy "Tim" Galgerud was born in Glasgow, Montana on June 3, 1940 to Blanche Edna (Baldwin) and Dan Galgerud. Tim married Nancy Wood (Mills) in 1959 and they had six children. They divorced after twenty-one years of marriage. Tim married Earleen Marriette (Hartford) and since resided in Grass Range. Tim attended school in Nashua, Montana and became a master craftsmen and contractor by trade. He especially enjoyed and excelled at the hobby of modeling from brass in H/O scale. Tim's work has been published in the Modeling Scratch-built Brass Locomotive Steam Engines Magazine several times as well as the Narrow Gauge Shortline Gazette Magazine and the Modelers' Annual. He had to create and build tools to perfect his work. He was the author, photographer and illustrator of all his articles. Tim is survived by his spouse Earleen; children Vicki Lynn Balzer Gunderson, Penny Hoyt Sauer, Kristine Terrell, Carrie Lynch, and two step sons Jack Floyd Prather II and Michael David Prather; siblings Sanford "Sam" Galgerud, Millie Ruckman and Linda Lue Couch; 14 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter. Preceding Mr Galgerud in death were his parents, 2 sisters, and three sons, Scott Gordon and twins Russell Alan and Jeffrey Wayne. Cremation has taken place. A gathering of families and friends will be held 2:00pm Sunday, March 21, 2010 in Grass Range at the Firehall. On his birthday, June 3rd his ashes will be scattered near Opheim.
