“Glen” Sand, 98, of Laurel, was born June 25, 1925, son of Gurney and Rachel (Olson) Sand. Glen was an honorable man that would do anything for his family. He grew up and attended school in Medina and Napoleon North Dakota. He had the Patience of a Saint and loved a good joke or two. He left this world June 30, 2023, surrounded by family and friends.
Glen proudly served his country during WWII (United States ARMY) 1945-1946, he was honorably discharged . He was a proud member of the American Legion and served on many honor details.
He worked road construction for Schultz and Linsay and Barry O'Leary.
He met the love of his Life and married Pauline Michaelis July 21, 1973.
He Loved tinkering with old tractors and restoring his model A Ford and spending time at Cooney Reservoir with his grandsons.
He was a member of the Teamsters Union and First Congregational Church (Laurel).
He was preceded in death by his wife Pauline, who he lovingly took care of until her death. His sisters, Florence and Eunice;.
brothers Robert, Earl and Roy.
Left to cherish Glen’s memory is his daughter Lorrie (Randy) Krell; Grandsons Eric Calhoun, Mathew (Erin) Calhoun;. 4 Great Grandchildren, Hannah Calhoun (Eric), Landon and Cooper Calhoun (Mathew & Erin), and Woodlyn Krell (Lorrie and Randy). Lorrie's lifelong friend Renee Barta, who loving helped take care of Dad.
A graveside service will be held 10:00 am Saturday July 22, 2023 at Laurel Cemetery
