George Michael Vandiver, 80, of Joliet, Montana died Monday February 17, 2025 at Beartooth Billings Clinic in Red Lodge following a battle with cancer. He was born September 6, 1944 in Fullerton, California to Albert Lee and Wanda Mae (Pierce) Vandiver. “G. Michael” attended school in Lancaster, California and later managed an Italian restaurant there. In the early 1980’s, Michael moved to Bonners Ferry, Idaho working as a carpenter and in construction for several years as an contractor. When Michael was 47 years old he began a career in trucking, which he worked at until retirement in 2021. Throughout the years, Michael was involved in numerous ministries including Prison Fellowship. He served as a church deacon and also worked independently in prison ministries.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Dr. Lee Corley. Left to cherish Michael’s memory is his wife of 42 years Sharon Hughes Vandiver; a sister Nita McCants; son Michael; daughters Denise and Angela; step children Ken and Kindie; 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
“He will always be loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed…” Thank you all for the many prayers, cards, telephone calls trees of remembrance and tribute wall postings.
A Memorial open house is planned March 27, 2025 at 5604 Lower Woodchuck Road Florence, Montana from 7 - 9:00 pm.
Graveside service will be on Friday March 28, 2025 at 1:30 pm Ronan Cemetery, Ronan, Montana.
On Sunday March 30, 2025 the family invites you to join them from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm 2 West Pryor Road Joliet for a time of remembrance and fellowship.
