George Maas, 64, of Edgar, died January 8, 2015 in Salt Lake City. He was born in Billings November 13, 1950 and graduated from Billings Senior High School in 1968. Following high school, George served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Ranger during the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged he returned to Billings and married Denise Reich on February 16, 1974, and remained happily married until his death. George attended and graduated from San Francisco College of Mortuary Science in 1974 and practiced in California and Montana. He spent many years as a professional photographer as well. George had an extraordinary curiosity and was continually reading and educating himself on the world around him. He especially enjoyed woodworking and had hobbies and interests that would have lasted him a hundred lifetimes!. George loved life. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Denise; children George, Nicole and Amber (Travis); grandchildren Isaiah and Pandora; father George W.; brother Gary; sister Gail (Kirk); and many friends and relatives. George was preceded in death by his mother, Geraldene and brother Glen. Memorial contributions may be made in George's name to The Liberty House Foundation at Fort Harrison Montana. A Memorial Gathering will be held in the spring. "We loved him; he was a wonderful person. Words cannot express how much we will miss him..."
