Frank Wombolt, 78, of Laurel died Saturday May 5, 2012 in Billings surrounded by his family. He was born in Laurel to George and Eva (Lackman) Wombolt January 30, 1934. He attended school in Laurel and went to work for the Northern Pacific Railroad in 1951. Frank enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1952 and served as an airplane mechanic during the Korean War. Following his honorable discharge, Frank returned to Laurel and began his career as a Burlington Northern Carmen, retiring in 1995. Frank married the love of his life, Myrna "Rose" Jones, togther they raised four children. Frank coached Little League for thirteen years and was a Boy Scout leader. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Leonard (Kim) Wombolt, Linda Wombolt and Tim (Jody) Wombolt; sister Martha Bleak; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Myran "Rose" of over 50 years,son John, five brothers and five sisters. Memorial Services will be held 2:00 pm Friday May 11, 2012 at the New Life Four Square Church in Laurel. Committal to follow with Military Honors at Laurel Cemetery.
