Beloved father and Grandfather Frank Morton Burson, 94, passed away peacefully at Whispering Pines March 6, 2009. The son of Morton and Alice Burson, he was born May 18, 1914, in Centerville, Iowa. Frank graduated from Avalon High School, Avalon, Missouri. He settled in Montana in 1937 and eventually married. A WWII Veteran of the United States Army; serving in the South Pacific from 1940 - 1944 and Honorably Discharged in 1945. Frank enjoyed many careers in his life from farming/ranching, nurse's aid, watch making, service technician for Coca-Cola Bottling-Billings and Colburns School Supply, retiring at the age of 75. Frank was very crafty and skilled with his hands, from building his first home to building furniture, clocks or just about anything he set his mind to. He was always active and had a great love and respect for the outdoors. Survivors include his sons Kevin M. Burson of Laurel and Jason P. Burson of Billings; daughter Marla D. Burson of Billings; daughter-in-law Janie Burson of Salem, OR; three granddaughters, Zoanne (Scot) Smith of Helena, Jamie R. Burson of Billings, and Brittney D. Burson of Salem, OR. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters' Lois Staley and Rachel Burnside and his son Brett G. Burson. Memorial Services will be held at the Seveth Day Adventist Church in Roundup March 11, 2009. Memorial contributions may be made to Whispering Pines Personal Care of Roundup, MT or Rocky Mountain Hospice-Billings.
