Eugene Craig Obituary

Eugene Craig, 75, a lifelong member of the Billings area, died Wednesday November 10, 2010 at Riverstone Hospice House in Billings of cancer. Gene was born November 19, 1934 to Earl and Emma (Hoff) Craig in Hardin. Gene was known to his friends as Jocko. He rode race horses from the age of 14 until 22, when he grew too heavy to meet the weight requirement. Jocko was fitting nick name since Gene was a Jack-of-many trades; a jockey, ranch hand, bartender, heavy equipment operator, though the work Gene enjoyed the most was being a cattle buyer. During his buyer days, He owned a small livestock operation. Gene's hearing deteriorated to the point of almost total deafness. At that time his hobby of FISHING became the passion of his life. Left to cherish Gene's memory is his children Tina and Jamie; granddaughter Rozlin; brother Leonard (Helen) Craig; sister LeDena (Wesley) Thatcher; four nieces; five nephews; numerous great-nieces and nephews; close friends Jeff, Jimmy, Mark and Donna and last but not least, Peanut, his beloved dog. We definitely know that Gene is no longer physically amoung us when at large gatherings Gene's voice is not heard blaring-out. Because of his hearing loss, Gene had no idea how loud he was speaking (yelling). Graveside Services will be held 2:00PM Tuesday November 16, 2010 at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Billings.
