Our amazing husband, father and papa joined our already passed loved ones in heaven on August 14, 2012 after a long and ugly battle with cancer. He was born October 8, 1956 on Itizuki Air Force Base in Fukuoka Japan to Guy and Kinie Harwood and lived their until he was 8 years old. After living in Nevada for a short time the family moved to the Black Hills of SOuth Dakota. Growing up he worked on the Thompson farm with his Uncle Mont, tending to animals was easy because Edgar was so patient and loving. One thing dad never did was move fast, but he was thorough and had great disipline and work ethic. His motto in life was "lifes to short to hurry things up!" He took great pride in his family and is remembered for ears of gold; he never missed a word his children spoke. Edgar married Margaret Hall and together they raised three children. Edgar and Margaret taught their children how to love their spouses and how important it is to make relationships work, teaching that marriage is for life. Edgar had many hobbies including computers, hunting and fishing. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Margaret; daughter Donna (Mike) and sons Monty and Nathaniel (Tracy); grandchildren Drake, Lane, Austin, Ely, Landon and Micaylah; brother Dennis Harwood and many special aunts, uncles, nieces andn nephews. "Dad, we love you and thank you for teaching us everything you knew from morals to patience, love and understadning. You were a wonderful role model for us and our children. Lots of hugs and kisses from all of us...". Cremation has taken place. A committal servic e will be held at Black Hills National Cemetery October 8, 2012.
