Duane Swecker

On Thanksgiving Day, the Lord swept Clyde "Duane" Swecker into His arms and welcomed Duane into His Glorious Kingdom, where he will live eternally, with no pain, and an abundance of fresh air that will flow through his healed lungs. This world lost a great man that day, but for those of us left behind, to have known him was a blessing in itself. Duane was born in Billings on September 6, 1942 to Aubrey and Mable Swecker. He was the youngest of seven children, joining three brothers and three sisters. On October 21, 1961, Duane married the love of his life, Diana Holt. To this union brought their children, Shawna (Steven) Wegner, Jamie (Lisa) Swecker, and Jodi (Jim) Nelson, Jeff Swecker, Bob (Rosie) Burke, and Teri (Ed) Michael. Duane and Diana have been blessed with eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Duane was preceded in death by his parents, brother Kenny and sisters Doris and Betty Lou, sons Bob Burke and Jeff Swecker and a grandson Ryan Wegner. The family would like to sincerely thank Dr. Lucas, Nurse Tracy and the staff at Frontier Cancer Center. The love and compassion you showed both Duane and our family was second to none. Duane grew to love each and every one of you and appreciated the loving care you provided to him. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00am Saturday December 6, 2014 at the Rock Church in Laurel. Memorial contributions may be made in Duane's name to Frontier Cancer Center, Riverstone Hospice or the Rock Church.
