Dorothy Fritz Obituary

Dorothy Maxine (Jensen) Fritz of Moore, MT passed away at the Central Montana Medical Center of natural causes on Thursday February 28, 2008.

Dorothy was born to Christian and Rachel (Newman) Jensen in Smithland, IA June 14, 1930. She was raised in the Mapleton, IA area. On June 12, 1949 she married Don Fritz in Drawa IA. In 1949 Dorothy and Don moved to Montana where Don started his career with the Great Northern Railway, while Dorothy enjoyed raising their three sons. Dorothy had jobs in Frazer and Malta, while living in Hagland. She managed the grocery store.

Dorothy loved animals and had a soft heart for the less privileged. Dorothy had a kind and caring personality and was loved by all who knew her. Grandma never wanted or needed anything more than she had. Mrs. Fritz was very active in the outdoors. Dorothy's favorite place to be was at Crystal Lake and she spent a couple of summers with her husband as the campground host. Dorothy loved to fish and instilled this love in her children and grandchildren. Some of her other hobbies and interests included bird watching, gardening, photography, sewing and crocheting. Arts and crafts were a great passion of Dorothy's. Many of her creations are cherished by those who were lucky to have received them.

Survivors include her sons Bruce (Peggy) of VA; Byron (Diane) of KS; Paul (Sandra) of MT. Grandchildren Marilyn Fritz; Dina and Landon Smith and Kyle Fritz and Michelle all of Montana. Great-granddaughter Madisyn Smith. Dorothy's siblings lovingly referred to her as "Dossy" they are Annabelle Weifenback of IA; Clifford Jensen of OR; Rosemary Nicholas of NV; Elizabeth Kleine of OK; She is also survived by aunt Bernadine Mohrhaused of IA and dear friend Rose Gidley.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister Fonda May Jensen and a granddaughter Nicole Fritz.

At Dorothy's request cremation has taken place at the Remington Central Montana Funeral and Cremation Chapel with no services.
