David “Bamer” Daughtry, 77, of Laurel, died January 11, 2022 at his home after a long illness. Bamer was born July 2, 1944 to Walter and Pauline (Rotella) Daughtry in Pensacola, Florida. He served in the United States NAVY from 1961 to 1965 during the Vietnam War.
Bamer was an over the road truck driver until he was 75 years old! He made friends everywhere he went, loved motorcycles, airplanes and old cars.
We had to say goodbye to this wonderfully crazy and fun loving man. He really did touch so many people and lived life like no other…
He is preceded in death by his mother Pauline Hicks and son David Daughtry Jr.
Left to cherish Bamer’s memory is his partner Shaye Zier; children Danae Sutton, Denise Daughtry, Angel Serwinowsky and Lisa Daughtry; siblings Judy, Deborah, Meledy and Walter.
He was known to say, “shit happens…”
A celebration of Bamer’s life will be held this summer.
