Beloved husband and father, David John Tesar went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at his home in Park City, MT.
He was born July 4, 1938 in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin to Elmer and Viola Tesar. After high school he spent 4 years in the USAF during the Vietnam era. He married Bonnie Lawver July 11, 1970. After finishing his post grad education at Eastern Montana College (MSU-Billings), David taught special education for 30 years in both Montana and Alaska before retiring in 1999. His wish was to return to Montana to spend his final days. He returned on April 20, 2021.
David was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed fly fishing and tied flies for family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Bonnie of 50 year; 5 children— Dan (Vicky) Tesar, Bonnie Sue Tesar (Tom), Jeff Tesar, Travis Tesar and Theresa McSorley all of Alaska; 14 grandchildren Shane— (US Army deceased), Danielle, Anna Marie, Biena, Joey, Nick, Sean Tana, Sabriena, Tiffany, Destanie, Harley, Harmony and George; 11 great grandchildren; 5 sisters, all in Wisconsin, Mary Tesar, Carol (Ron) Kalish, Nancy (Q) Nelson, Sandy (Squeaks) Gordon and Linda (Dave) Bowar; and two very special brothers-in-law, Terry (Kristie) Lawver of Montana and Jerry (Roxy) Lawver of Alaska.
Graveside Interment with Military Honors will be 1:00 pm Thursday June 3, 2021 at Yellowstone National Cemetery in Laurel, Montana
