Cheryll Weigand Obituary

On May 23, 2015, our brave mother and wife, Cheryll Ruth Weigand, went to be with her Lord, and Savior, in heaven. She had been living with ALS for the last 18 months, since her diagnosis. Mom did not quietly succumb to the awful disease. Instead, she used every moment to spread her beautiful smile, love, and "kick ass" spirit to not just fill units of time, but to truly accomplish her goals. She never put anything off for 5 minutes, or until tomorrow. She truly pushed herself to get things done, whether she felt like it or not. Mom sewed quilts for everyone in the family, planted flowers to leave our dad a beautiful yard, wrote letters and made videos for her husband, children, son-in-law, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. She was the strongest, most strong-willed person we have ever known. Mom didn't accept the word, "no," or the phrase, "I can't."She was always the first one up in the morning, and the last one to bed at night. Mom was a Master Gardener, a gourmet cook, a volunteer visiting "her ladies" at the rest home, a ski instructor, a writer for her college newspaper, a one-time telephone operator, an expert sandwich maker, an artist, a Sunday and Vacation Bible School teacher, an AWANA leader, an expert seamstress and quilter, a prayer warrior, a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Mom taught us a lot, things like manners, being polite and courteous, being respectful of others, how to be patient and wait, how to forgive and ask for forgiveness, how to pray, and how to love with our whole hearts. She was selfless and kind-hearted, and gave of herself until the end. She left behind George T. Weigand, her husband of 51 years, daughters, Kristen Weigand and Melissa Scott, son-in-law, Neil J. Scott, granddaughters, Hannah, Abigail, and Miriam Scott, grandson, Paul Isaac Weigand (Lexie Morales), and great-granddaughter, Kinsleigh Ann Weigand. We will be celebrating her life, with a memorial service this Thursday, May 28, 2015, 10:30 am, at The Rock Church, in Laurel, MT. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the ALS Foundation, in her name.
