Charles "Timer" F. Moses

"Do not feel sorrow or concern about the passing of Timer recently. He had a very interesting life. He was raised in Midwest, Wyoming and became quite an athlete. He played basketball at the University of Wyoming, at Fordham University in New York City and at the University of Montana in Missoula. He enlisted in the Army because it was the right thing to do and served in Europe until the war ended. He returned and married Betty Lorene Stephens and joined the great Stephens family. Timer and Betty had six children, and all of the have been quite successful including the grandchildren. Their accomplishments were always a matter of pride. Timer always wanted to be a lawyer as long as he could remember, but he never knew a lawyer or what the profession was really about. He enrolled in law school and graduated in 1949. Thereafter, in Billings for over 50 years he practiced law as his life's work. He was proud of the fact he had appeared in over 13 states and the District of Columbia and learned about the varying ways law was practiced in the nation. He even attended a hearing for a client in Canada., but the rules prevented his active participation. Upon his retirement, because of a health problem, Timer wrote over 20 books about the law, all of which were fiction but based on rules of law, which were enjoyable to him. Timer has lived a full and interesting life and may be missed, but he looks forward to the next life, which might be even more exciting. Just remember him once in a while."

We will remember him together again at a memorial service this spring at a time to be announced.
