Charles "Doc" Alcide Caron was born April 9, 1953, in Billings, to Alcide Caron and Rita Larochelle Caron. He died Friday, Dec. 11, 2015, at Riverstone Hospice in Billings. He will be missed for his wit, wisdom, humor and genuine friendship.
A memorial service will be held April 9 at a location to be determined.
He graduated from West High School in 1971, and in 1972 he attended Harley-Davidson Mechanic School in Milwaukee. For the next several years, he worked as a Harley-Davidson mechanic in Billings. In 1981, he opened his own shop, Doc's Speed and Custom, where he worked on building cars and motorcycles for show.
Besides being one of the best Harley wrenches around, he also was an avid reader and had many hobbies. His myriad of interests included tractor restoration, acting with the Alberta Bair Theater and the Billings Studio Theater, and horsemanship, which he took up in 2010.
Survivors include his sisters, Celeste Caron and Celia Squires, and a brother, Conrad Caron, all of Billings. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Carol Ann Caron; and his brother, Christopher Caron.
