Beulah Watkins Obituary

Beulah Watkins, 91, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend passed into the presence of the Lord on March 4, 2010 in Billings. She was born June 18, 1918 to Chester and Virga (Barnes) Phillips in Pleasantville, Iowa. SHe attended school in Manhatten and Whitefish, Montana. Beulah married Ralph Watkins, November 1, 1938 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They lived in Montana, Utah, Alaska, and settled in Laurel, Montana. They operated the local taxi service and Beulah was known to many as their favorite clerk at the local Safeway store. Beulah spent her retirement years traveling with friends, golfing, and attending any sports events her grandchildren and great-grandchildren participated in. Mrs. Watkins is survived by two sisters; sons Wes (Nancy) and Merrill (Elaine); grandsons Todd (Roxy) and Merrill (Brenda) and great-grandchildren Beau, Bailey, Brooke Watkins, and Blyth Wilson-Buckner. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ralph and seven brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held at the Remington Letcher Chapel from 5 - 9 PM Monday March 8, 2010. Funeral Services will be 1:00PM Wednesday March 10, 2010 at the Nye Community Church in Nye, Montana. The family wishes to recognize the staff of Aspen Meadows and Billings Clinic for her end of life care and acknowledge the great care of Dr. Lucinda Husby across the span of Mom's life. Memoria contributions may be made to the Nye Community Missionary Fund or Aspen Meadows.
