Betty Jean LaTray

Betty LaTray, 62, died December 28, 2011 in Laurel surrounded by her loving family. Betty was born August 19, 1949 to Ivan and Doris (Holmlund) Ekstrom in Anaconda. She married Walter LaTray February 9, 1974. Betty worked as a CNA for eighteen years and was a business owner for eight years, but her family was always her proudest accomplishment and came before all else. Aside from spending time with loved ones, she also greatly enjoyed cooking, gardening, camping and travel. Betty's memory will be forever cherished as a mother, advisor, friend and confidant. Her contagious laugh, quiet wisdom and strong spirited soul will be deeply missed by all. Betty is survived by her husband of 37 years, Walter; children Dawn (Blaze) Tadday, Heather (Curt) LaTray-Anderson, Jackie (Scott) Walby and Gary (Melaine) LaTray; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, as well as her brother Everett (Sharon) Ekstrom. Mrs. LaTray was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Sue Wenstrom and her son Kevin LaTray.
