Alice Viola Cahill Berner, born on a farm/ranch in northern McCrone County Montana on December 10, 1927 passed peacefully at her home on December 21, 2014 in Reed Point. She was the daughter of Bud and Hazel Cahill. Alice rode her horse by herself across the badlands and prairie to Sunnyside, the same school her mother and later her children attended; roots to the land were deep. Summers were filled with brandings, trail rides, rodeos, fairs harvests and feasts with plenty of out-of-state family. A good life. Alice was known for her optimism, this organizer, designer and dance teacher was a progressive activist - Farmers Union, 4 - H, Democratic Party, AERO, organic farming. She designed houses, made wedding cakes and enjoyed quilting, antiques and scrapbooking. She loved the land, farming and ranching and her family. Alice raised four children, Jerry, Bonnie, Colleen, and Allan. She had six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
