Wesley Thatcher, beloved father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend passed away May 12, 2019 surrounded by loved ones after many years of struggling with dementia. He is now at peace and is in the loving arms of his wife LeDena Craig Thatcher of 64 yrs. who passed October 21, 2018.
Wesley was born June 29th 1929 in Bridger, Montana to Miller and Hope Thatcher. He was one of thirteen children. He grew up a true cowboy and raised saddle horses until he bought and lived for 65 years on a ranch west of Park City, Montana where he grew hay and grain and raised cattle and sheep.
He married LeDena Craig April 5, 1954 and raised 3 children. He loved farming and ranching and was proud of his crops and livestock. He was always helping his children and grandchildren with 4-H and school activities.
He worked various jobs outside the home and was an active member to many organizations. He worked the Cove and Big Ditch Irrigation system for more than 40 years. He also worked the Park City Collection Site.
He loved picking raspberries and harvesting a large garden. He and LeDena always had food on the table to share with family and friends that stopped in. He would make sure many a stray animal was taken care of and the wild ducks and geese that visited the pond below the house had grain for the winter.
Wesley is preceded in death by his loving wife, LeDena (Craig) Thatcher, his parents and other relatives and friends.
Wesley is survived by his children, Claire Killebrew, of Park City, Hope Guptill, (Larry) of Columbus, Wesley L. Thatcher, (Pam) of Park City. His brother John Thatcher, (Anne), sisters Francis Kraft and June Newby and Sister-in-laws Gracie Thatcher, Helen Craig, and Jonell Thibadeau. He has 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Dad you are now at peace and no longer confused. It was a struggle at times but you always kept your sense of humor and twinkle in you eye. Mom is waiting for you and you can ride off together.
Graveside Services for Wes and LeDena will be 10:30 am Monday June 3, 2019 at the Columbus Cemetery.
