June Cumin Obituary

COLUMBUS — June Ivy Cumin, of Rapelje, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2018. She was born on Shane ridge near Columbus on July 1, 1932 to Severin (Sam) and Ivy Mae Jensen as the 9th child in a family of 13 children, which included Sam, Ellen, Betty, May, Melvin, Wayne, Jimmy, Johnny, June, Annie, Darlene, Florence and Billy. She attended Tutt Creek School, then Edgar High School. She worked as a telephone operator in Billings and as a waitress in Columbus when she met K.C. Cumin and married on July 26th. 1953. She moved to the ranch west of Rapelje, where she lived, worked and raised 5 sons, Wade, Tye, Kelly, Cole and Russ, then started helping raise grandchildren teaching them all she could. She moved to Beartooth Manor in Columbus in March of 2008 due to crippling complications from a tractor accident on the ranch years earlier. She had always enjoyed painting and quilting and being determined to make the best of what life dealt her, she made her room very homey, continued to paint and quilt after she was in the Manor and made over 60 Quilts. Her biggest enjoyment by far was getting her family together for holiday dinners and the large gatherings with the families of her brothers, sisters and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 10 brothers and sisters and 2 grandchildren Mariah Joy, and Casey James Cumin. She is survived by her brother Wayne, sister Darlene (Jim) Pond, sons Wade (Peggy), Tye, Kelly, Cole, Russ (Ruth), 10 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. She will be missed but she made a blessing of her time here to all of her family. A big heartfelt thank you to the past and present working staff at Beartooth Manor. A memorial service will be held at the little Metra in Columbus on October 6, 2018 at 4 p.m.
