Duane Franklin Temple, 96, of Laurel, passed away surrounded by his loving family on September 13, 2018.
He was born on November 13, 1921 to James H. and Adrienne M (McCleery) Temple. On July 5, 1941 he married the love of his life, Louise Henry Temple. Together they had six children.
Duane joined the Marines on September 10, 1943 during WW II. He was honorably discharged as a Corporal on February 11, 1946.
He was Superintendent of the Union Tank Car Company, retiring in 1982.
Duane was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoors man. He was very proud of his garden and loved spending time in it. He was very proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved all the time he got to spend with them.
Duane is survived by his four surviving children, Shirley (Bob) Stanton, Rita (Russ) Hankinson, Sherri (Kevin) Greenwalt and Joe (Shawna) Temple. Eighteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandaughter with one great-great grandson on the way.
He is preceded in death by his wife Louise, sons Jim and Mike, and grandson Jason Stanton.
A Memorial Graveside Service will be 10:00 am Saturday September 22, 2018 at Laurel Cemetery.
